The most common mistake is that you are not entering the user name correctly. You should also ensure that your e-mail settings are correctly entered:
Incoming Mail Server Type: POP3
Incoming mail (POP3): mail.yourdomain.com
Outgoing mail (SMTP): mail.yourdomain.com
SMTP server requires authentication
Eudora: select "allow authentication" under tools->options->sending mail.
Outlook: check "My Server requires Authentication"
Netscape: Outgoing Mail username should be set to your e-mail login name

Email name and passwords are case sensitive.
