Permission settings?

Any script that ends in .cgi or .pl in the cgi-bin folder should only be chmoded 755, do not chmod these files 777 as they will not work under that permission. All other files that you upload in the cgi-bin folder should be chmod 666, these would be files that end in .txt, .dat, and so on. Files that are uploaded in .html form will not be viewable from the web. If you need a viewable .html file you will need to put this file outside the cgi-bin folder. When uploading Perl scripts to your account make sure that they are uploaded to your cgi-bin directory and that you upload them in 'Ascii' mode; not 'Binary' mode. The cgi-bin directory is located off of your root directory. Also, you should make sure that you have the proper permissions set on your Perl scripts. Usually they are set as the following:  rwx r-x r-x or simply 755. Consult your ftp client application for instructions on setting file permissions.
